Gay Pot-LuckOver fifteen years ago, a University of British Columbia gay student group held a weekend retreat at my home. There followed a pot-luck reunion of that group. The pot-luck has evolved into the quarterly Ty Mynydd (Welsh for house on mountain) pot-luck for gay, bi, or curious men. The pot-luck is held the last Saturday each third month, beginning in January, at 6:30 PM. (Check with me for the exact dates.) It may end as early as 10:30 with people taking off for the disco, or last into the wee hours with those who wish climbing into the hot tub. There is sleep over space for off Islanders, but often they are invited home by locals. Men bring one dish of something they enjoy cooking (or find at a delicatessen), a bottle of wine if they wish, and share. Attendance has ranged from 6 to 60 (averaging 40 of late), and ages from 18 to 80. The pot-lucks are held in my log house on a mountain outside Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
